Event Defensive Tips for Low Level players

I always see players ripping Kixeye that lower level players can't earn enough XP to gain prizes in these events, but seldom see those same people lend advice to those lower level players. So here's some that I hope will help.

General defending advice in no specific order......

The first few waves should be easy to defend. Keep in mind that your defensive turrets take much less time to repair than your defensive platoon. So for these easy waves try to lean on your turrets to do all of the defending and save your defensive platoon for a few waves down the road. While I will completely remove my defensive platoon for the first few waves, you may not have that luxury, but you should be able to back them off the perimeter of your defense a bit and only move them forward into action when absolutely necessary. Saving them from damage until they're actually needed will keep you from having to sit and wait for them to repair during those early waves.

Take the same approach with your mines. You don't want to have 4 mines blown in each of the first 3 defending waves only to have them sitting there useless when you really need them. Place them out of the way during those early waves until they are needed.

Walls were avoided by attacking units in previous events, but it looks like the AI has been changed so that attacking units will fire on them to go through the walls in this event. With that in mind place walls in a position so that units will stop to fire on your walls while the attacking unit is just inside the outer reach of your mortars. Wall placement may also be useful in defending against the new flame assault vehicle. I didn't get into the preview for the event, so keep your eye on the tactics of the flame vehicle and see what you can do with your walls to counteract.

Doesn't look like Mutoto will attack with any air units until well after the 20th wave, so to begin with load up on the anti-tank defense. Fill your bunkers with heavy gunners as they should defend well against the Flame Assault Vehicle. Throw in a shock trooper as well if you have them. Then as the attacking force changes adjust your defensive platoon accordingly.

When the waves start getting real tough add your suicide bombers to your defending platoon, placing them in the attacking wave's spawn points. Don't forget to set them to aggressive. They can be micro-healed for the next wave, meaning they only need to be repaired for a second each to be used again on the next wave.

Don't be afraid to surrender if you are being overrun and save yourself some repair time.

Hopefully you've prepared ahead of time and have all of your units fully healed and your storages full of resources. With your storage full you can let your metal and oil pumps run to 100% capacity without collecting. This will lower the power usage of your base, and may allow your defense to run on fewer power plants. With my pumps full I can run on 2 power plants instead of 3, leaving me one fewer building to worry about defending without hurting my defense.

Good luck!!!
